Case study – R&D collaboration for the stabilization of agri-food suspension by gelling agent additivation
Agribusiness
Customer type: Group
Service contact: R&D
The Customer encounters problems decanting his suspensions of biotechnological origin and calls on RHEONIS to determine the appropriate conditions for stabilizing his products by adding gelling agent and develop a predictive instrumental approach for its future developments.
Scientifically studying phenomena to develop effective solutions
In response to this request, RHEONIS brought to this nearly two-year collaboration the versatility of the skills of its team: scientific and technical expertise, development of instrumental protocols, development of test benches, modelling, statistical analysis, project management, sourcing, …
The main stages of the study were therefore as follows:
- State of the art
- Development of settling monitoring test bench and adjustment of rheometric techniques
- On-going study of the behavior of Customer suspensions
- Sourcing of gelling additives and study of variability and various influencing factors
- Suspension/additive interaction study and performance evaluation of additives
- Study of correlations and modeling, implementation of charts
- Various recommendations at the ingredient, product, process, instrumental techniques and methods level
