F01 – Deepen your mastery of rheometry

2 days – 14 p.m.

April 5 & 6, 2022

Grenoble

€1 excl. tax/share.

(Lunches included)

Objectives

During this two-day hands-on advanced training, participants will deepen their mastery of the rheometry for the investigation of the behaviors and transformations in an industrial context of all types of materials (excluding powder). Participants will learn to:

  • Know the operating principles of the rheometer and accessible modes of use
  • Choose parameters of interest in the operation of the problems and set up representative protocols

Improvement

  • Any industrial sector of material transformation

THE RHEOMETER, A TOOL FOR SCIENTIFIC INVESTIGATION OF MATERIAL/APPLICATION COUPLINGS (Day 1 – 9 a.m.-12 p.m.)

  • Reminder of the problems and industrial issues related to the couplings between material and conditions of implementation
  • Principle of operation of the rheometer and the notions of measurement-experiment, stress, response
  • Modes of use of a rheometer (large deformation, small deformation, normal stress, dynamic protocols, "exotic" uses)
  • Questions of representativeness, parameter of interest and predictive approach, interpretation and use of measurement curves

ADVANCED PRACTICE IN BIG DEFORMATION (Day 1 – 14pm-17pm)

  • Basic flow curve and thixotropy, flow threshold
  • Common experimental biases, experimental responses
  • Dynamic Protocols
  • Interpretation of curves, rheological modeling

ADVANCED PRACTICE IN SMALL DEFORMATIONS (Day 2 – 9am-12pm)

  • Viscoelastic measurement, frequency and amplitude sweeps, linear regime
  • Phase change
  • Dynamic Protocols
  • Interpretation of curves

ADVANCED PRACTICE IN NORMAL STRESS (Day 2 – 14 p.m.-15 p.m.)

  • Compression, Texture Profile Analysis
  • Protocol settings and interpretation

EXOTIC USES (Day 2 – 15:30-17pm)
